Closed 23 Aug 2019

Opened 26 Jul 2019

Overview

The Cabinet Office conducted a public consultation to the Immigration Points Based System in 2017.  A commitment was made by Council of Ministers to review the Tier 1 (Entrepreneur), (Graduate Entrepreneur) and (Investor) Routes and Rules and deliver new immigration Routes and Rules for Investors and Entrepreneurs and is included in the Programme for Government for Year Three 2019/20.

The United Kingdom Home Office replaced the Routes and Rules for their Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) and (Entrepreneur) with a new Start-up and Innovator Route, and have also made reforms to their Tier 1 (Investor) Category.  Isle of Man Immigration Tier 1 (Entrepreneur), (Graduate Entrepreneur) and (Investor) Routes and Rules have not been further amended since the consultation in 2017, and will remain in force until they are replaced in April 2020 with the proposed Business Migrant (Start-up, Innovator and Investor) Routes and Rules.

The Cabinet Office and the Department for Enterprise are seeking further feedback regarding ‘draft’ Business Migrant (Start-up, Innovator and Investor) Routes and Rules.  The ‘draft’ has taken into account the feedback from Tier 1 PBS consultation in 2017, the current UK Routes and Rules, and GD 2019/0005 Locate IOM Strategy.
