Feedback updated 28 Sep 2020
We asked
The purpose of the consultation was to seek views on proposed updates to give effect to the latest version of the International Convention on Load Lines 1966 and Protocol of 1988. The current Isle of Man (IoM) Regulations which implement the Load Lines Convention are the Merchant Shipping (Load Lines) Regulations 2000 and the Merchant Shipping (Load Lines) Act 1981.
Since these Regulations were made there have been various amendments to the Load Lines Convention. The intention is to write and replace existing provisions with new legislation which will be up-to-date with the latest international requirements.

Overview
The Isle of Man Ship Registry is consulting on Regulations to give effect to the latest version of the International Convention on Load Lines 1966 and Protocol of 1988. As this is an international Convention which has been in existence for many years, the Convention and the amendments should be common practice onboard IoM registered ships and we do not foresee any changes to current practices.
