The purpose of the Consultation was to ask for feedback on proposed Regulations implementing the Red Ensign Group Yacht Code Part A, Large Yacht Code (up to 12 passengers) and Common Annexes. This Code applies in its entirety to new commercial yachts (constructed on/after 01 January 2019) and certain sections apply to existing commercial yachts, although these vessels may continue to be surveyed in accordance with the code they were constructed under (LY1, 2 or 3).

The Regulations were laid before Tynwald on 11th December 2018 and entered into force on 1st January 2019. We also published amendments to MSN 033 and MSN 054 to provide guidance on complying with the Regulations.
Overview
The Isle of Man Ship Registry is proposing to write Regulations implementing the Red Ensign Group Yacht Code Part A, Large Yacht Code (up to 12 passengers) and Common Annexes. This Code will apply in its entirety to new commercial yachts (constructed on/after 01 January 2019) and certain sections will apply to existing commercial yachts, although these vessels may continue to be surveyed in accordance with the code they were constructed under (LY1, 2 or 3).
