Overview
The Isle of Man Ship Registry is consulting on a proposed set of updated Regulations to give effect to the latest version of MARPOL Annex II. The current Regulations applying MARPOL Annex II are the Merchant Shipping (MARPOL Annex II – Control of Pollution of Noxious Liquid Substances in Bulk) Regulations 2008, which will be revoked.
Why your views matter
The current Isle of Man MARPOL Annex II Regulations were written in 2008 and since then there have been a number of amendments made to Annex II of the MARPOL Convention. The new Regulations will implement all amendments up to and including the latest International Maritime Resolution (MEPC.315(74)) subject to these amendments meeting the acceptance criteria within the MARPOL Convention. Operators of Isle of Man registered ships should be familiar with these requirements as they are already in force internationally.

We will respond directly to any clients who respond to the Consultation. Any feedback will be published on the Isle of Man Government Consultation Hub.
