Isle of Man Plantation Management Plans 2025 to 2045

Closes 12 Apr 2026

National Plantation Management Plan

The National Plantation Management Plan (National Plan) explains how the Isle of Man’s public forests will be managed over time to improve woodland health, support wildlife, protect landscapes, and keep people safe. It sets out a longterm, phased approach to tree management, including targeted thinning and felling, habitat enhancement, and gradual change in some plantations. Management is aligned with the UK Forestry Standard and UK Woodland Assurance Standard and supports the Island’s ambition to achieve Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) certification, ensuring forests are managed sustainably for people, nature, and future timber supply.
