We asked for views on proposed changes to the exceptions from restrictions on disclosure of information under the Designated Businesses (Registration and Oversight) Act 2015, the Financial Services Act 2008 and the Insurance Act 2008.
You said
Responses were received from six parties: two insurance businesses, one deposit-taker, one trust and corporate services provider, one Isle of Man law firm, and one Statutory Board.
We did
We responded to the comments we received in Consultation Response paper CR17-03/T07, which was published in August 2017. The orders to implement the proposed amendments were made on 6 September 2017 and they came into operation on 1 November 2017.
Overview
To obtain views in relation to three draft orders which amend the exceptions from restrictions on disclosure of information under:
- the Designated Businesses (Registration and Oversight) Act 2015
- the Financial Services Act 2008
- the Insurance Act 2008
The proposed changes to the Insurance Act 2008 will also apply to the Retirement Benefits Schemes Act 2000 by virtue of section 43 of the latter Act.
